Designing Low Carbon School Buildings

Ian
is a Studio Leader in our London office. He joined Feilden Clegg
Bradley in July 2001 and became a Partner in January 2003. Ian
previously worked at Arup Associates before becoming an Associate
Director at Bennetts Associates, where his work on the Wessex Water
Operations Centre, the Richard Attenborough Centre at Leicester
University, Jubilee Library Brighton, and proposals for an extended
Museum of the Moving Image for the BFI in London set new standards for
environmental performance and inclusive design. His previous work in
Peter Foggo’s Group 2 at Arup Associates centred on office buildings
and masterplanning, including Finsbury Avenue, Broadgate and
Paternoster Square in London. Ian has been involved with the Building
Research Establishment on the development of BREEAM and Envest
environment analysis tools. He also has experience organising site
specific installation art shows in London and Los Angeles.
Ian has
worked on eleven RIBA-award winning projects, two of which reached the
Stirling Prize shortlist. He has recently completed student housing for
Queen Mary University of London and the Northampton and Islington
Academies. Current projects include the mixed use One Planet Living
Communities in Brighton and in East London at the zero carbon One
Gallions development, and projects at the LSE and University of
Southampton. He leads the FCBS Research and Innovation Group.
